We Are Extraordinary

I am obsessed with all the love, art, expression, and overall empowerment I've seen in support of the ladies for Women's History Month. I've never saved so many inspiring posts and stories and just shit-I-like-to-look-at in a very long time.

Of course, my panicky perfectionist-self tried too hard and failed to make an inspiring Insta-story on actual "International Women's Day" (March 8th). That said, its never too late to express how much I adore and appreciate all the strong, intelligent, beautiful women in my life. So, here's my chance:

Seriously! We are all so incredible as women and I wanted to remind you of that with this blog today. Women are amazing creatures and that doesn't just apply to women who have given birth, or women who own their own business, or women who are kind and gentle, or any of the other typical ways in which society usually gives credit to the female sex. Of course, these are still incredible and celebrated feats. I am in complete awe of every one of my female friends and family who have created life and brought amazing creatures into this world with their resilience and their physical BODY. (Their bodies people. Women's bodies create and sustain life *mind-blown emoji*). I am blown away by all the females I know who took a risk and followed their passions to create a business out of something or out of nothing. (It's cool to see them love what they do even though it often brings them to stressful hot tears). But it doesn't have to stop there with what we should celebrate when it comes to accomplishments.

Remember to celebrate and be proud of yourself for going to school, it's hard work. Or be gratified knowing that school isn't for you and you'd rather create something else wonderful for yourself instead. Feel dignified for working really hard at a job that maybe isn't your ultimate goal, but it's getting you through life right now and helping you afford the things that make you happy. Or feel confident in your decision to be brave and quit a job that is bringing you down and you are now facing the unknown but with more freedom. Feel impressive for taking steps towards working on your mental health, whatever that looks like for you. Feel self-respect for getting all those like on your latest post where you felt really pretty and got up the guts to share it with your social world. With so much comparison going on in the the digital space, it's easy to loose sight of just how incredible you and your choices really are. If I can help remind you of your worth as a woman, than I've done my job for the day and I shall celebrate with a pat on the back a nice glass of merlot.

So here's to the nurses, the moms, the dog-moms, the never-want-to-be-a-mom(s), the artists, the students, the doctors, the adventurers, the creators, the entrepreneurs, the brave, the timid, the successful, the struggling, the wives, the singles, the loud, the quiet, the rebellious, the big, the small, the sisters/daughters/nieces/aunts/friends and every woman in between... I salute and adore you.

xoxox,

Trishae
